Frequency_3 is a long-term artistic-poetic project (2023–2031) conceived as a work-in-process and an evolving, open architecture. Grounded in transborder listening, radio art research, and expanded audiovisual creation, the project unfolds autonomously and interdependently, weaving collaborative networks across Brazil, Cuba, Latin America, and other territories.

With its First Triad (2023–2025) consolidated —which generated our Anthropophagous Archive · Sonic Matrix and a series of 9 radio art episodes—, the project is currently in Triad 2 (2026–2028). This phase focuses on expanding into physical presence, collaborative audiogram production, public space interventions, sound installations, and the development of Frequency 3 — 30 min, a live audiovisual performance designed for exhibition spaces and festivals.

To ensure research autonomy and the international circulation of this field research and creative work, Frequency_3 is actively building partnerships with institutions, funding bodies, and curatorial platforms.

By positioning research at the intersection of living geographies, the project weaves continuous collaborations with artists and researchers across continents. This framework activates resonances between the Global South and the international scene, opening spaces for dialogue where listening acts as a political, poetic, and decolonial gesture.

Engaging with diverse cultural circuits allows us to decentralize hegemonic narratives, advocating for a sonic ecology rooted in reciprocity, critical cross-pollination, and the production of sensitive knowledge and epistemologies of listening.

Open Work — Pre-15th Havana Biennial

Between late August and early September 2024, there were days of engagement with a diverse public, consisting of Cubans of all ages as well as citizens from around the world.

We took to the streets of Havana, undertaking sonic driftings for the creative composition of the episodes that form the special series Frequency 3. Over three days at Malecón 663, we conducted audiovisual experiments at the threshold, on the rooftop, and during a Collective Experimental Listening event in the Habitación Mambo Number Five.

We are deeply grateful for the open doors and generosity of the entire Malecón 663 team and our partners at Complots, both of whom carry out crucial work fostering cubanidad and supporting artistic and cultural exchanges across the Island.

In 2024, Frequency 3's second year, we were delighted to have our proposal selected to take part in the Irradia Sound Art Festival.

The Irradia Festival brings sound art productions to the public via radio, through a diverse program with works produced by artists from all over Brazil and the world. The first edition took place in October 2023, with broadcasts on Rádio Universitária FM 107.9, in Fortaleza-CE, and Rádio Universitária FM 104.7, in Vitória-ES.

Activations at the 15th Havana International Biennial

As part of the official program of the 15th Havana International Biennial in 2024, Frequency_3 held a Collective Experimental Listening session at the Centro Hispanoamericano de Cultura, located along the historic Malecón, establishing a space for reflection, sonic resonance, and engagement with a diverse audience of Cuban citizens and international researchers.

Continuing this trajectory and expanding the work into its physical and material presence, in February 2025, the duo Paloma Klisys and Cintia Molter presented the project's expanded audiovisual live version at Plaza Antonio Maceo and Belascoaín.

The public activation combined spatial video mapping with real-time audio and image manipulation, turning urban architecture into a platform for poetic and political resonance in the heart of Havana.

In 2026, Frequency 3 achieved significant international recognition by being selected for the official broadcast programme of Radiophrenia, a renowned temporary art radio station and festival hosted at the Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA) in Glasgow, Scotland.

Supported by Creative Scotland, the festival airs selected sound works worldwide and on FM radio, marking a key moment in the project's international circulation and expansion across borders.
