ARTIST STATEMENT
Paloma Klisys develops an artistic research that interweaves visual poetry, sound art, performance, and audiovisual practices, transforming the boundaries between spoken language, writing, sound, and image into a field of sensory and poetic experimentation.
Over more than two decades of artistic practice, she has established a distinct conceptual territory deeply connected to the city, the body, and technology, using these elements as tools for mediation and critical reflection within the global art landscape.
Through translanguage and interactive processes, Klisys explores the thresholds between sound and image, proposing new forms of inscription and listening that activate both collective memory and individual perception. Her work invites sensory displacement and audience participation, where public space performance and urban interventions do not merely engage spectators but integrate them as co-authors of the artistic process.
Her practice is situated within a techno-analog-ancestral-futurist horizon, reactivating obsolete media and communication technologies to generate new expressive syntaxes. With a strong commitment to experimentation, her research challenges contemporary communication paradigms and reconfigures notions of presence, attention, and participation in art.
Paloma Klisys operates as a mediator of collective experiences, using performativity and spatial activation to establish transdisciplinary dialogues that directly affect both audiences and contexts. Her work pushes the boundaries of sensory perception by critically and poetically articulating sound, image, body, and environment.
With a consolidated international trajectory in sound art, visual poetry, and audiovisual performance, Klisys offers a distinctive and relevant contribution to contemporary art, forging connections between art, technology, communication, and public space.
