Frequency
Frequency 3 is a long-term, transdisciplinary, translanguage artistic-poetic project, conceived and created by Paloma Klisys and Cíntia Molter.
The artists focus on radio art and sound art, expanding their research into transmedia experiences that combine photography, cinema, video art, poetry, and live performance. It is a deep dive into an anthropophagic investigation that stimulates cultural exchange, reflection, and artistic creation across territories.
The project-process encompasses the production of a special series of radio art programs created between 2023 and 2025 and broadcast in podcast format, alongside live audiovisual performances featuring video mapping in public spaces and cultural venues. The actions also include experimental collective listening sessions and sound installations in immersive environments.
The objective is to explore the richness residing in the connections between artistic languages, media, encounters, and cultural landscapes along the Brazil ↔ Cuba ↔ Latin America axis.
Frequency 3 is an international collaboration between artists Paloma Klisys and Cíntia Molter. It is a translinguistic proposal for producing hybrid content that merges radio art, sound art, photography, cinema, video art, poetry, urban drifts, projection mapping in public spaces, and live performance.
The word frequency suggests the desire to enter and stay in tune, which is primarily why we chose it. To this conceptual definition, we add the use of the number 3 in reference to several triads that form the poetic core of our research—for example: I, you, we.
First, second, and third person in allusion to the way human relationships are built. From the first person, we access the other (second person) and inevitably engage with the collective (third person plural), we.
Many mystical and magical meanings have been attributed to the number 3 across different cultures throughout human history, and playing with this offers an engaging way to feed the creative process poetically.
Frequency 3 is a work open to interferences and collaborations. The project completed the production of nine artistic radio programs (released in podcast format) throughout 2023, 2024, and 2025. In parallel with the release of the programs, experimental collective listening sessions were organized periodically.
The radio shows and live audiovisual presentations featured the participation of Brazilian, Cuban, and Latin American artists and researchers, along with collaborations from creators in other territories.
Polyphony, the multiplicity of objective and subjective worldviews, and the diversity of ways of being, feeling, thinking, existing, and producing art and knowledge are the main raw materials that driven and consolidated this artistic/poetic process.

Frequency 3 is an anthropophagic investigation operating as a launching pad for poetic and reflective provocations and propositions, aimed at creating new possibilities for cultural exchange, interaction, and artistic creation.
We are interested in modes of communication that transcend purely formal and rational discourse, proposing a listening experience beyond the conventional.
It is precisely through provocation, listening, and an openness to the resonances of the "outside" that actions are triggered to forge new connections, produce artistic, poetic, and reflective content, and foster discussions around behavior, the production of subjectivity, contemporary challenges, cultural exchange, philosophy, technologies, and education.
The core objective is to work artistically with diverse discursive layers, guiding the production of transmedia and translanguage content through contact and contagion with the research universe of other artists, researchers, and collaborators engaged throughout the creative process.

The concept of radio frequency designates the electromagnetic spectrum frequencies used in radiocommunications. Radio frequency waves are deeply embedded in our daily lives through audio broadcasts, television, the internet, and other media, spanning the electromagnetic spectrum from 3 kilohertz to 300 gigahertz.
To ground the modus operandi and the production focus for this proposal's content, we articulate the word frequency alongside three other concepts that highlight the editorial and artistic vision of this special series:
Tópos — From the Greek tópos, "place." This concept allows us to emphasize the essential recognition of each territory's specificities. Expanding from tópos, we also engage with the concept of utopia—derived from u-topos, meaning "no place." Modestly, we propose to operate as a space for exercising freedom: a place where fabulating utopias becomes possible.
Kósmos — The totality of all that exists, from the microcosm to the macrocosm, from stars to subatomic particles. From the Greek kósmos, which also signifies beauty, order, organization, and harmony.
Kairós — Non-linear time. The concept of Kairós prompts us to practice an expanded perception of time's passage, moving beyond purely chronological time.
Articulated within everyday experience, Kairós invites us to pay close attention to cycles and the time of intensities. One possible reading of the term is "opportune time"—that which renders something special and memorable, not through quantitative metrics, but through the meaning attributed to events.
By placing tension on these three concepts, we reaffirm our desire to experience deep creative freedom, with a lens uniquely attuned to singularities.

Frequency 3 predicts the realization of experiments and creative provocations between artists and collaborators that transit through the most diverse fields of knowledge with the aim of provoking new connections that can generate artistic content.

Integrating the project's curatorial and engagement strategy, the releases of select episodes were accompanied by "Experimental Collective Listening Sessions," featuring prominent in-person events in São Paulo, Havana, and San Antonio de los Baños (home of the EICTV) alongside broadcasts that connected multiple digital platforms (such as Discord, YouTube, and SuyaiTV).
This framework enabled the audience to engage in active dialogues following these listening sessions, sharing insights and reflections generated by the themes explored.
Frequency 3 - live
At the conclusion of the publication process of the Frequency 3 radio art series, the artists extend the work into a new transdisciplinary phase — the creation of a live audiovisual performance that translates three years of poetic and sonic research into an immersive spatial experience.
This stage of the project transforms the accumulated material — voices, field recordings, sound compositions, and visual archives — into a living performance in which sound and image are composed in real time.
The artists employ advanced software environments such as Resolume, TouchDesigner, Ableton Live and OBS combined with MIDI controllers, mixing consoles, and projection systems, to sculpt an audiovisual landscape that unfolds dynamically with each presentation.
In this live configuration, Frequency 3 transcends the boundaries between radio art, sound performance, and video mapping. The act of manipulating frequencies, textures, and visual rhythms becomes a gesture of expanded writing — a form of translinguistic composition where sound and image converge as equal forces of meaning.
Each performance adapts to the architectural and acoustic specificities of the site, reimagining public space as both stage and medium. Whether projected onto urban façades or within immersive environments, Frequency 3 proposes an experience that dissolves the distance between audience, city, and artwork — affirming the poetic and political power of listening and collective resonance.

Frequency 3 is a deep immersion and an anthropophagous inquiry, open to fabulation and collaboration among Latin American, Caribbean, and international artists and researchers.
An artistic and poetic process driven by an insubservient, reflective aesthetic — neither totalitarian nor totalizing — that fears neither navigating geopolitical contradictions nor transcending the polarizations that flatten the symbolic depth and density of a visceral context.
Frequency 3, as previously noted, is a collaboration between Paloma Klisys and multi-disciplinary artist Cíntia Molter. Paloma and Cíntia met in the public street — a domain deeply valued by both artists as a site for raw interaction with everyday audiences — through a sequence of events connecting the Máquina de Inscrever project, street poetry movements, theater, and cinema.
Over the past two decades, Paloma has dedicated her practice to developing cross-linguistic creative processes and projects that examine the intersections among urban performance/intervention, the moving image, and the spoken and written word.
Cíntia Molter trained at the Buenos Aires film school, was part of Teatro Oficina’s Universidade Antropófaga, and continues to evolve creative works centered on analog photography and short films; she is currently undertaking a creative residency at EICTV, one of the world's most prestigious film schools.
Both artists are committed to bolstering cultural relations across Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Lusophone axis.

Paloma Klisys and Cíntia Molter: two anthropophagous researchers engaged in a continuous process of cross-linguistic contamination and creation.
The genesis of this collaboration unfolded across living geographies and territories. Cíntia specialized in cinematography at EICTV (San Antonio de los Baños), undertaking a three-year immersion alongside filmmakers and creators from around the globe, equipped with a digital recorder and an evolving archive of memories — an experience whose outcomes now expand across other territories.
Paloma mobilized Frequency 3’s network of collaborators across multiple territories while deepening a process of ancestral reconnection with Galicia, bridging the Lusophone community through literature, contemporary poetry, and moving-image production.
Within this resonance, Frequency 3 emerges as an effort to tune into and between multiple territories. The project took shape through frequencies that cross social fabrics shaped by complex historical imprints. Its inception aligned micro- and macro-synchronicities: Cíntia’s journey through Cuba proved to be a singular point of landing and listening — a "pathway within the path" that woven itself, in dialogue with Paloma’s affective cartography, into a broad tapestry of ancestral and geographic reconnection.
This is an open architecture: the connections between both artists and their territories dynamically expand as the process moves forward, continuously permeable to cross-pollination with other artists and researchers worldwide.
