
Frequency_3 — Cross-border Resonances
in Sound Art and Translanguaging

Long-term artistic-poetic project in radio art, cross-border listening, and expanded audiovisual.
Frequency_3 is a long-term artistic project designed to evolve over nine years (2023–2031), structured through a trinitarian logic (3+3+3) that articulates listening, displacement, presence, and ritual as its creative axes.
Initiated in 2023, the project investigates radio art as an expanded field, operating between Brazil, Cuba, and other Latin American territories through practices of deep listening, urban drift (dérive), field recording, sound montage, and audiovisual experimentation. More than a series of isolated works, Frequency_3 asserts itself as a work-in-progress, in constant transformation, traversed by time, encounters, and the material conditions of each territory.
Since its inception, the project has approached listening as a sensitive and compositional practice, treating sound not as a fixed document, but as narrative matter capable of condensing layers of time, memory, displacement, and presence. Radio art, in this context, is understood not as a closed format, but as a field of articulation between sound, language, image, and imagination—projecting itself into both the intimate space of listening and collective, in-person contexts.
Trinitarian Structure (3+3+3)
The development of Frequency_3 is organized into three triads, each spanning three years, forming a continuous nine-year arc.


🔵 TRIAD 1 — 2023 · 2024 · 2025
Creation · Listening · Origin
The first triad corresponds to the formation phase of the project’s conceptual and sonic field.
Between 2023 and 2025, Frequency_3 focused on the conception, recording, and editing of nine radio art episodes, each approximately one hour in length. These were published in podcast format but rigorously designed as works of radio art.
During this period, listening laboratories and sonic dérives were conducted along the Brazil–Cuba axis, activating an initial cross-border territory for investigation.
The editing of the episodes was treated as a work of narrative and temporal composition, bringing radio art closer to a cinematographic logic for the ear.
This phase included the project’s first public circulations, with participations in festivals and institutional contexts, including Tsunami (2023), Irradia (2024), and the Havana International Biennial (2024/25).

🟣 TRIAD 2 — 2026 · 2027 · 2028
Expansion · Presence · Networks
The second triad marks the transition from predominantly mediated listening to material presence and international circulation.
Starting in 2026, Frequency_3 expands its scope into live audiovisual performances, sound installations, and hybrid presentations, bringing the sound archive built in Triad 1 into public, institutional, and exhibition spaces.
This phase aims to strengthen the project's presence in international festivals, exhibitions, residencies, and gatherings, promoting professional and affective exchanges in the fields of sound art, audiovisual media, and transdisciplinary practices.
The audiovisual language evolves from sound editing, incorporating images, projections, and minimal visual gestures, always in dialogue with sound as the structuring axis.

🔴 TRIAD 3 — 2029 · 2030 · 2031
Unfolding · Ritual · Legacy
The third triad corresponds to the project’s final arc. Between 2029 and 2031, Frequency_3 enters a phase of intensification, synthesis, and culmination, dedicated to preparing the final gesture that concludes the nine-year cycle.
This period focuses on the development of the final sound and audiovisual dramaturgy, deepening the dialogue with audiences and collaborators, and preparing a ritual closing gesture in Cuba — a territory foundational to the project’s conceptual, poetic, and sensitive constitution.
In 2031, a high-symbolic-density in-person action is planned, accompanied by the creation of a Special Final Radio Art Episode (1h), conceived as a poetic synthesis of the journey, gathering sound layers, territorial fragments, encounters, and intersections accumulated throughout the entire process.

Frequency_3 > Work-in-Progress / Process-based Work
Frequency_3 is structured as a long-term process-based work, sustained by the constancy of time, by listening as a continuous practice, and by a conceptual architecture capable of traversing nine years with density and consistency.
Throughout its cycles, the project operates as a field of passage in which sound, territory, and presence undergo successive reconfigurations. Each stage reorganizes its internal forces, producing shifts in meaning that become perceptible through duration, accumulation, and the reiterated experience of listening.
This extended temporality allows Frequency_3 to incorporate historical, affective, and territorial layers, turning time itself into a compositional device. The work asserts itself as a sensitive system in continuous relationship with the contexts it traverses, activating different regimes of listening, attention, and presence.
The work transforms based on the ways it articulates with the contexts, audiences, and territories encountered along the journey.
Frequency_3 asserts itself as an artistic practice of great breath, capable of articulating sound research, narrative construction, and territorial activation within a single compositional gesture. By sustaining continuity, thought, and invention over time, the project develops a solid procedural architecture in which listening, montage, and passage operate in an integrated manner.
Its conceptual consistency, combined with the depth of the process and the clarity of its poetic architecture, positions Frequency_3 as a singular proposal in the field of radio art and contemporary translanguaging—fully prepared to engage with international curatorial contexts, festivals, exhibitions, and programs dedicated to long-term artistic research.
